WESTPORT — For 25 years, the first weekend of September has offered a way to give back to the community at the Westport Rock, Rhythm and Blues Festival at the Holy Ghost Grounds in Westport. Local philanthropists Frank Ray and his wife Wendy Sperduti have been supporting A Wish Come True for the past 25 years.

“A Wish Come True has always been near and dear to our hearts. Knowing that this event will directly support granting wishes to children suffering from a life threatening illness really drives us to do more,” stated Wendy Sperduti.

This year, Sept. 6-8, eight bands donated their time to celebrate and recognize this cause. Over 250 people attended and helped raise over $25,000.

A Wish Come True is the oldest wish granting organization in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts and has provided wishes to over 1,600 children.

“This matters to us,” said Frank Ray. “We want to make sure donors realize that their support stays local. Over 350 children from the South Coast region have been granted wishes over the years.”
