ROOTS Academy continues to see exceptional growth, and with such comes the need for more space, prompting CEO Kyle Chowning to purchase a new building, right next door to their current location at 320 Southgate Court, Brentwood, aptly called The ROOTS Annex.

With plans to open in November, the new space will meet the growing demands of all of their dance and music programs, as well as propel the launch of new band and musical theater programs.

Since opening in Franklin’s Cool Springs area in 2012, ROOTS Academy has seen phenomenal growth and is quickly becoming the preferred music and dance studio in the middle Tennessee region. Their latest move was to their current location on Southgate Court in November 2017, after which they saw an overall increase in students of nearly 50%. During this time their dance program has exploded, with an increase of 107%, as well as an increase of 44% in their music program, fueling the need for additional space, parking and thus, new building.

“Since moving to our new permanent home in November 2017, we’ve experienced growth in the business like we’ve never have before,” commented Chowning. “The opportunity to purchase the building next door to our current facility allows us to both expand our music and dance program, while giving us the space to cater our program to our students growing needs and goals. Furthermore, our investment into two permanent buildings will allow us to deepen our roots in the Cool Springs area and not have to worry about the inflating real estate market. We plan to be here, serving our growing student base for a long, long time.”

The ROOTS Annex features a sprawling 5400 square feet, which will soon welcome two large dance studios with sprung Marley dance floors, a multi-purpose performance room for bands, group classes and more. Combined with their current building, the new space will increase their total square footage from 11,000 to 16,400, featuring:

  • 5 dance studios — all sprung Marley floors
  • 13 music studios
  • 1 Group/band studio

While also nearly tripling their parking capacity on-site, the ROOTS Annex will continue to allow the 9x Sizzle Award winning organization to open its doors to other arts and fitness programs that need space. Recent partnerships have included b.fab.fitness and Area 54, an open Hip Hop class lead by Jordan Grace, that focuses on providing on-camera training.

With a mission is to empower creatives of all ages to reach their full potential through the study of music and dance, ROOTS Academy looks forward to continued growth and serving students for many years to come. Click HERE for information on ROOTS Academy.
