Road trip alert: Tucson Jazz Festival brings Mavis Staples, Maceo Parker, AWB and more – AZCentral

The sixth annual Tucson Jazz Festival has announced its 2020 lineup and it’s packed with marquee names, from Mavis Staples to Maceo Parker, Christian McBride, David Sanborn, Average White Band and the Afro-Cuban All Stars. 

Tickets to most performances are on sale now at tucsonjazzfestival.org.

The festival will also showcase local talent, including the University of Arizona Studio Jazz Ensemble performing with Veronica Swift and students from the Tucson Jazz Institute Ellington Band opening McBride’s performance.

The festival will conclude with a Downtown Jazz Fiesta featuring LA’s The YOLO County Line on Monday, Jan. 20 (MLK Day) and more than 20 bands performing in multiple locations including three outdoor stages starting at 11 a.m.
