Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival postponed to 2021: What to know about refund options – Delmarva Now

Fans of Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival will have to wait until next October for the weekend-long symphony of blues, swing, folk music and trumpet solos.

Organizers announced Monday the jazz festival was postponed to 2021 amid concerns about the coronavirus.

“We will always put the safety of our fans, artists, volunteers, sponsors and all the production crews that make it happen year after year first, which is why we know this decision had to be made and that it is the right thing to do,” organizers said in a statement shared on Facebook.

Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival, which benefits Beebe hospital’s Tunnell Cancer Center annually, will have the same artist line-up and schedule, and is now slated for Oct. 14-17 of next year.

Organizers also hinted at another “big announcement” soon.

Organizers are encouraging ticket holders to keep their purchase, which helps benefit the team at Beebe Healthcare, but this year the organization is making an exception and will also offer refunds through Sept. 15.

If you purchased tickets to this year’s Jazz Fest, you have three options that will be sent to you via email over the next week.

First, you can transfer your purchase to next year and attend the 2021 Jazz Festival instead. If you decide on this option, be sure to keep your current tickets, as they will now be the ones you use for next year’s festival.

If you want to keep your tickets but don’t plan to attend next year’s event, you can also gift them to someone else.

If you chose either of the above options, you will be entered into a lottery to receive one of these prizes: a two-night stay at one of the organization’s sponsoring hotels during Jazz Fest 2021, two two-front row seats at the 2022 Rehoboth Beach Grand Jam Show or one of three gift certificates to an official Jazz Festival restaurant.

“We really need your help now more than ever, as we try to help keep this beautiful music industry alive and well, as well as raise money for our frontline heroes who are always there for us when we need them, which is why we want you to team up with us and be part of our ‘Be a Hero’ program,” organizers said in the statement.

Your third choice is to opt for a full refund. Keep in mind that this option only covers the cost of the seat, and won’t include service fees charged by the organization’s ticket vendor.

All refund options must be submitted by Sept. 15. After that, the festival’s no-refund policy will go back into effect.
