Premiere: Paper Lions Share New Album, ‘Stay Together’ – Forbes

Canadian pop-rock band Paper Lions will release their newest album, titled Stay Together, tomorrow, Oct. 18. Today, the band is sharing the entire nine-track album early for your enjoyment.

Brimming with catchy pop hooks and crystal-clear production, the quartet’s newest release in its 15-year career is an easily-accessible selection of radio-friendly rock affability.

“Staying together isn’t always easy, and like any relationship, there are moments when you have to fight for it,” says singer/guitarist John MacPhee. “We’ve been a band for 15 years and we’ve done our share of fighting, but making Stay Together was more about surrender and acceptance. I think the four of us feel more comfortable in our own skin – inside and outside of the band – and as a result, we wrote a record that isn’t as concerned with fitting a specific ‘theme.’

“There are elements of each record we’ve made that show up on Stay Together,” he continues. “The scrappy pop-rock of our Trophies EP, the bittersweet nostalgia on My Friends and the exuberant pop we explored on our last record, Full Colour. While we didn’t set out to do this, Stay Together really represents all the different aspects of our band.”
