Mobile’s Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival, like other music festivals and arts events, is going virtual for 2020.

Free sessions will be streamed on the festival’s Facebook page and a 2020 GCEH Jazz Festival Live channel on YouTube.

An “Evening of Poetry” featuring spoken-word performances will be streamed from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30. The event is dedicated to the late Tessica “Lady Tess” Williams; Huggy Bear da Poet will host.

A concert being streamed from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, will feature The Excelsior Band, Karmilla Ali & Friends and The Cedric Brooks Project. Music resumes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, with a shift into the blues: Scheduled acts include Keep It Live, the Ric McNaughton Band and Jamell Richardson.
