Trump, Pence attend dignified transfer of two Eglin AFB soldiers killed in Afghanistan

(WKRG/ CBS News) President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence traveled late Monday night to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to pay respects to two U.S. service members killed Saturday in Afghanistan.

Sergeant Javier Gutierrez, 28, of San Antonio and Sergeant Antonio Rodriguez, also 28, of New Mexico were killed when a soldier dressed in an Afghan army uniform opened fire with a machine gun, according to CBS News.

Spanish Fort Police looking for a new chief for the second time in just a few months

SPANISH FORT, Ala. (WKRG) — Less than 3 months after the former police chief retired, Spanish Fort is again looking for a new chief.

The city has listed the position on their website. Current Chief, Kenny Hall, has been at the post for such a short time, the city hasn’t even updated its web page. It still has David Edgar listed as chief. Edgar retired late last year.

Citronelle Police release 2019 crime numbers

MOBILE, Ala. (WRKG) — Citronelle Police released crime numbers for 2019. The new list shows a nearly 35% decrease in major crimes. Those are crimes like robberies, shootings, and harassment.

In 2018, the city saw four murders. In 2019, it saw only one. Chief Tyler Norris said his department has taken a new approach to make Citronelle safer.
