The Duke Ellington School of the Arts Jazz Orchestra will be performing at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival on Saturday Feb 15th at 2 pm!  Please come out and support the Arts and Live Music!  

Friday February 14th – Sunday February 16th, Presidents Day Weekend, The Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival  brings an exceptional array of talented young musicians, seasoned musicians and Grammy Award Winning professionals at the top of their fields to the Hilton Rockville (1750 Rockville Pike). The Jazz Festival takes over the entire hotel. There are five stages and an impressive assortment of Masterclasses, Clinics, Film Screenings, Panel Discussions, Line Dancing classes, a High School Jazz Band Competition and vendors to peruse. Many of the masterclasses and clinics can be attended for as little as a one-time charge of $5.00.

Saturday Feb 15th – A Tribute to Geri Allen by the Grammy Award winning Terri Lyne Carrington Group feat. Tia Fuller

Sunday Feb 16th – Bobby Watson and Horizon Reassembled

The DESA Jazz Orchestra will be performing at 2:00 pm on the ATRIUM STAGE (FREE STAGE) on Saturday February 15th!  Come out, enjoy this energetic and engaging show and SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC!

In addition to DESA’s Jazz Orchestra you will find the following acts also performing on the free stage:

Sat Feb 15th:

3:00 pm – Towson University Jazz Combo

6:00 pm – Airmen of Note

8:00 pm – American University Jazz Combo

There are many more acts playing the free Atrium Stage throughout the day on Saturday and again on Sunday!
