HORNELL, N.Y. (WTEM) – Train manufacturer Alstom SA, who operates a manufacturing and engineering facility in Hornell, has received approval from the EU to acquire the rail business of Bombardier Inc., according to Reuters.

In February, Bloomberg reported that both companies confirmed that “discussions are ongoing and no final decision has been made,” and that a person familiar with the deal says it could be worth $7 billion.

ENFIELD, N.Y. (WETM) – Three people have been arrested after a home invasion in Enfield the morning of July 25 that ended in the suspects being treated at Robert Packer Hospital.

At approximately 7:21 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca responded to a report of a home invasion on Rumsey Hill Road in the town of Enfield.
