The musical behemoth that is the Bluesfest 2020 is continuing to grow, with a mixed bag of new acts getting added to next year’s bash.

Get ready to celebrate good times (c’mon) because soul-funk legends Kool & The Gang are coming down under for the festivities, alongside flamenco rumba pioneers, The Gipsy Kings and LA-based singer and renowned songwriter LP who will be making her Australian debut at the festival in 2020.

Festival boss Peter Noble says: “I am thrilled to say that our headliners on this announcement have almost 100,000,000 album sales between them”, before going on to reveal a few more lineup surprises.

“We’re lucky enough to have Guy Sebastian are his two incredible ARIA Award wins last week,” Noble continues.

“The mighty Allen Stone, a real-deal Bluesfest favourite who is becoming another breakout star following his numerous appearances over the years. Dweezil Zappa will be playing his Dad’s brilliant record ‘Hot Rats’. Winner of the European Guitarist of the Year – Erja Lyytinen, Australia’s greatest ever blues band – Chain and so much more. Stay tuned for another lot of amazing additions for what is fast becoming one of our greatest lineups ever!”

Topped by none-other than Crowded House and Dave Matthews Band, the Byron Bay spectacular’s 2020 bill also features Lenny Kravitz, Eagles Of Death Metal, Patti Smith And Her Band, Grammy winner George Benson in his Bluesfest debut, UK stalwarts Morcheeba plus locals John Butler, Xavier Rudd, The Cat Empire and loads more!

And that’s just one of many more lineup announcements to come, so — you know – pace yourself.

The 31st annual Byron Bay Bluesfest will run from Thursday, 9th April til Monday, 13th April 2020 at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, with promoters promising “the best festival yet”.
