Ms. Cumberbath has performed with John Hicks, the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, Diedre Murray, Lonni Plaxico, Onaje-Alan Gumbs, Curtis Lundy, Cecil Brooks III, Steve Wilson, Andy Bey, Al Harewood, Cecil Payne, and Romero Lubambo, to name a few. She currently works with the Baritone Saxophones, the Ray Abrams Big Band, the Brooklyn Repertory Ensemble, and her own Magnificent Trio. This irrepressibly charming show is a mix of French chansons and American jazz standards from the ’20s to the ’40s with a continental flare. Chlo sings an intriguing mix of jazz, chanson, Brazilian and occasionally Romany-tinged numbers in French, as well as in English. The group is known for its reinvention of the old chestnut “My Heart Belongs to Daddy” as a bolero-tinged Twin Peaks theme, an obscure ’20s hot jazz tune that Perrier had found in a history book, and the classic “La Vie en Rose.” Come to Club Bonafide in New York City and listen as exes get dissed and relationships gone wrong are dissected and remembered through glasses that aren’t exactly rose-colored.

Considered one of the most influential trumpeters of our time, Shunzo Ohno has played, recorded and toured with such renowned leaders as Gil Evans, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, and many others. Born in Gifu, Japan, Shunzo began his musical passion at age 13 in his local public school. By age 19, Shunzo was the leading jazz trumpeter in Japan. Working as a composer and arranger, Shunzo’s career hit high gear when he met renowned bandleader Art Blakey. He toured with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, throughout the United States and settled in New York City in 1974 at Blakey’s suggestion. Mr. Ohno has 16 recordings under his name as a leader and has appeared on over thirty more as a sideman. His fascinating life, with his triumph over illness and adversity, is the subject of a biography, “Trumpet of Hope” and a documentary film, “Trumpet of Glory.” His 2018 release “Dreamer” has brought international attention

A protg of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, ARTURO SANDOVAL was born in Artemisa, a small town in the outskirts of Havana, Cuba, on November 6, 1949, just two years after Gillespie became the first musician to bring Latin influences into American Jazz. Sandoval began studying classical trumpet at the age of twelve, but it didn’t take him long to catch the excitement of the jazz world. He has since evolved into one of the world’s most acknowledged guardians of jazz trumpet and flugelhorn, as well as a renowned classical artist, pianist and composer. He is one of the most dynamic and vivacious live performers of our time, and has been seen by millions at the Oscars, at the Grammy Awards, and the Billboard Awards. Sandoval has been awarded 10 Grammy Awards, and nominated 19 times; he has also received 6 Billboard Awards and an Emmy Award. The latter for his composing work on the entire underscore of the HBO movie based on his life, “For Love or Country” that starred Andy Garcia as Arturo.
