The upcoming musical week is bursting with blues and other things to do. Here’s a look:

Salty Snacks

Jacksonville-based trio The Snacks Blues Band makes its first appearance on the corner stage at 9 p.m. Friday at Bradfordville Blues Club, 7152 Moses Lane. The group is fronted by vocalist/harmonica player John-Michael Brown, “Mad” Matt Schaeffer anchors the beat on drums and Brian Boos fingers the frets on guitar. The Snacks Blues Band is a regular at the St. Johns River Blues Festival and Springing the Blues Festival in Jacksonville. Give ‘em a warm welcome, y’all! Tickets are $20 advance, $25 at the door. Visit www.bradfordvilleblues.com.

Blues beacon

Robert Lighthouse was drawn to the U.S. from his native Sweden by the Mississippi moan of the almighty Delta blues. He came here at the age of 18 and made a pilgrimage to blues shrines on Chicago’s Maxwell Street, New Orleans and other hotspots. Lighthouse settled in D.C., where he proceeded to hone his chops busking on the street (where he built a solid fan base), releasing two acclaimed CDs and touring. He brings his hard-won blues skills to town at 8 p.m. Friday at Blue Tavern, 1206 N. Monroe St. Cover is $5. Call 850-212-5204.

Rachel rocks

It’s been said of guitarist/singer Rachel Hillman that she “sings like an angel and plays guitar like a demon.” She brings her dandy band of top-shelf players to the cozy confines of a listening room for a night of originals and tasty covers at 8 p.m. Saturday at Blue Tavern, 1206 N. Monroe St. Cover is $5. Call 850-212-5204.

Musical Therapy

Guitarist Bryan Lee has been blind since the age of 8, but he hasn’t let that stop him from becoming one of the hottest ax-slingers in the Crescent City (he now calls Florida home). Dubbed “the Braille blues daddy,” Lee has logged 26 appearances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and fresh from the latest, he brings his band Six-String Therapy to town to sprinkle a little hoodoo on the dance floor at 9 p.m. Saturday at Bradfordville Blues Club, 7152 Moses Lane. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 at the door. Visit www.bradfordvilleblues.com.
