People protest outside Allen County Prosecutor’s home, organizer distances himself after being arrested

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Protesters met at Allen County Prosecutor Karen Richards’ home to demand she drop all non-violent charges related to protests in May and June.

Many were people who had been at the downtown Fort Wayne George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests. They were demanding non-violent charges that some protesters are facing be dropped.They also wanted her to do something about the way police handled the situation those first two nights of protests.

Virtual Pedal, Paddle, Play still going on, funds raised will help make new trails

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Pedal, Paddle Play is happening right now! The annual event has gone virtual, but the organization that hosts it says registration is down.

“Pedal, Paddle, Play this year has gone virtual so that we can maintain social distancing, but still have this annual fundraiser for the Northeast Indiana Water Trails,” says Kyle Quandt, from Northeast Indiana Water Trails.

Large gathering takes over Glenbrook Commons parking lot

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A large number of vehicles were parked Saturday evening in the Glenbrook Commons and Glenbrook Square Mall parking lots.

The vehicles were parked around Burlington Coat Factory and Ross Dress for Less in the 4100 block of Lima Road. Traffic on the Glenbrook property was at a near standstill just before 10:00 pm. Coliseum and Lima Road traffic was moving swiftly. Some trucks were doing burnouts and some were also setting off fireworks. Several Fort Wayne Police cars arrived on the scene and mall security was directing traffic.
