The Boardwalk Merchants and Friends of the Bandshell will present Renegade, a Styx tribute band, and Smokin’, a tribute band to Boston, at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Daytona Beach Bandshell.

Renegade delivers one of the most dynamic Styx Tribute shows on today’s music scene, bringing a fantastic stage show with multiple vocalists to recreate the amazing harmonies of Styx.

Styx has dazzled fans worldwide for more than 30 years. They produced monster hits with their stadium rock, power ballads and concept albums. Renegade delivers all of the greatest Styx hits with flash and fun. Concert attendees can expect to rock out to hits like “Too Much Time on My Hands,” “The Best of Times,” “Come Sail Away,” “Fooling Yourself,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Grand Illusion,” “Renegade,” “Babe” and “Lady.”

Following Renegade’s performance, Smokin’ will take the stage to pay tribute to the legendary band Boston. Boston is one of the hardest bands to pay tribute to and Smokin’ nails it with their massive soaring vocals and amazing harmonies, layered signature guitar sound, and dynamic giant keyboard effects. Smokin’ delivers all of Boston’s hits and classics to the tee.

Smokin’ is a South Florida band that is made up of members that have toured with national acts, have played in some of the biggest tribute bands and have more than 30 years of professional gigging experience under their collective belts.

Star Spangled Summer Concert Series attendees can expect to hear all of the big Boston hits like “More Than A Feeling,” “Don’t Look Back,” “Rock & Roll Band,” “Foreplay/Long Time,” “Cool the Engines,” “A Man I’ll Never Be,” “Peace of Mind,” “Hitch A Ride,” “Amanda” and “Smokin’.”

The public is invited to bring the entire family. In order to comply with Volusia County’s standards for Covid-19 events, some adjustments have been made to this year’s concert series. Attendees will not be allowed to bring their own chairs as pre-arranged seating will be implemented to allow for social distancing. Face masks are required.

General admission and VIP seat tickets are available at Ticketmaster or in person at the kiosk on the boardwalk in front of the Bandshell or at the Bandshell Box Office at noon Saturdays. Tickets for future concerts will be available until 5 p.m. Saturday, after 5 p.m. only tickets for that day’s concert will be available. General admission seats are $2 each and include a chair. VIP tickets are $10 each and also include a chair.

Bandshell parking is available at the nearby Ocean Center garage and surface lots. Attendees parking in the Ocean Center garage can take the pedestrian overpass.
